Seasonal Skin Care?
The fall and winter months are a good time to exfoliate brown spots and uneven skin by using microdermabrasion. This treatment addresses the build up of dead skin cells, leaving the skin feeling fresh, clean and healthy.
Step 1: The advanced exfoliator (the same professional grade exfoliating crystals used by dermatologists) will immediately energize skin and reveal more radiant, healthy-looking skin. And Step 2: Is a rich serum, containing vitamins, antioxidants and anti-irritants. This serum nourishes the soft, smooth skin revealed by Step 1.
The skin care products you used during the summer months may not be what your skin needs during the fall/winter. If your skin is feeling drier it's time to address the need for a change in your skin care routine.
This is a good time to change your skin care routine to include the use of a hydrating gel or cream. It may be as simple as changing to a creamy cleanser to give your skin the hydratation and moisture it may need.
There is a lot to consider about your skin care regimen when transitioning to fall/winter. A good skin care specialist will be able to provide a wide variety of products to meet your skin’s unique needs.
Let me know how I can help you with your fall/winter skin care needs.
Bye, bye, dry! YOU GLOW GIRL!!

As Time Goes By....
I want to share some information with you that many women ask "as time goes by" and we get older.
I had a potential customer write me about her skin care concerns. She wrote -
Within the last month or 2 I am experiencing that lovely perimenopause and the oil production on my face is out of control. I have always had combination skin, but this is extensive. Very greasy, particularly T-zone but also in the temple areas and have had breakouts. UG! It is so unpleasant that my bangs end up kind of greasy by days end. I end up cleaning my face about 3 times a day to cut down on the oils, but that cannot be good for my skin and I fear that I am not getting enough moisture to the wrinkles around my eyes and mouth area. ANY SUGGESTIONS?
Dear Ms. Oily,
I understand your skin care concerns. As we are going through "change" our bodies and skin do some strange things.:) I don't know about you, but some times I feel like I'm going back to puberty myself.:)
To answer your question, you'll want to make sure you are using a skin care system that meets your needs. Since you have very oily skin you'll need a skin care system to control oil. Some women think that if they have oily skin they don't need to moisturize, not so. Your skin needs daily hydration and moisture. You'll get these benefits by using the correct skin care system -- the basics, cleanser and moisturizer and if needed some extra supplements.
To help control your oil beyond your skin care system I would suggest using a supplement that helps control oil throughout the day. One product I love and know that works is our Oil Mattifier. The Oil Mattifier absorbs oil and helps control shine for at least eight hours. And you can reapply it throughout the day – even over your foundation.
Another product I keep handy in my purse is our Beauty Blotters. These handy tissues absorb oil without the day and help keep your makeup fresh.
And to zap those zits, give our Acne Treatment Gel a try! A little dab daily will do it. The secret to this product is to continue to treat the affected area a few days after it disappears.
Remember, as you get older your skin care needs may change. I find though I'm still a bit oily I need additional hydration in some areas, so I've started using our Oil-Free Hydrating Gel. It's a perfect combination with my daily moisturizer.
Don't forget with the change of the seasons check your foundation shade. Most likely you will need a darker shade in the summer and lighter one in the winter.
Blessings,
SkinCareGirl

The Secret to Beautiful Skin
After reading this information and using Mary Kay products I do think 40 is the NEW 30 when you take care of your skin! I have a bit of the "crows feet" not much though. Do you think maybe I'm really 25 years old. lol
By James Sternberg, MD
Dr. Sternberg is a dermatologist and anti aging expert in Westwood, California.
Taking care of your skin now will pay big benefits later—no matter what age you are now!
Although these changes are typical, there may be exceptions. The proper use of cleansers, moisturizers and cosmetics is essential to maintaining a youthful appearance. Use of a good skin care program such as Mary Kay offers—skin supplements containing Alpha Hydroxy—can certainly alter this progression.
At 20 years—The skin on the face is still free of wrinkles.
At 25 years—The first wrinkles appear on the forehead and under the eyes. Laugh lines become apparent.
At 30 years—”Crow’s feet” develop at the corners of the eyes.
At 40 years—Permanent wrinkles begin to appear in the area from the ears to
the neck.
At 50 years—Wrinkles appear around the nose, ear lobes, and chin. The skin
is noticeably drier.
At 55 years—Folds form at the nape of the neck and mostly on the areas exposed
to sunlight. Hyper-pigmentation or discoloration begins.
At 60 years—Wrinkles around the mouth deepen and the cheeks begin to sag.
At 70 years—Wrinkles begin to overlap, forming a crisscrossing net of
creases. Pigmentation is now quite evident.

Tickled Pink
I have just heard great information from a National Sales Director that she received at the Houston Leadership Conference. The NSD and her Area Directors attended Area day at Leadership with NSD Cindy. Cindy invited a doctor from the Houston area to speak about our products. He is a Harvard graduate, former scientist with NASA. He is now a world renowned plastic surgeon and his wife is a Mary Kay Sales Director. When he first discovered Mary Kay, he told his wife "she had better join or find someone as wonderful as she so he could refer his patients to her".
His findings were: Mary Kay is the BEST skincare bar none!!!
1. Only comprehensive anti-aging skin care regimen program on the market for men

For The Guys Out There:-)
Are you a guy that takes care of your skin? These days there are more and more skin care products out there and it can be frustrating and confusing when trying to find the right skin care system for you.
I feel men are becoming more image conscious and there is also a lot of talk about skin cancer these days. And there should be. Estimated new cases of skin cancer rose to 1 million in 2007.
A facial bar cleans and buffs skin as it begins the process to help reduce the visible signs of aging. Skin is left smooth and healthy-looking.
If you're using that bar of soap did you know that you are drying out your skin and leaving a film of harsh chemicals that are clogging your pores?
Shave Foam helps soften the skin and beard to help reduce razor irritation. The enriched formula surrounds and clings to each whisker, creating a comfort zone between the razor and the skin for a clean, close shave. The rich cream has a light, fresh scent any man will love.
Moisturizing is a necessity. Always use a light moisturizer on your face after cleansing and shaving and don't forget your neck! Hydrate and nourish your skin.
And better yet, find a SPF 15 moisturizer or higher that hydrates skin and provides UVA/UVB protection to help shield the skin from harmful rays that can cause it to age prematurely. This type of moisturizer even retains its sun protection for at least 80 minutes in water. Remember, sun damage will lead to lines, wrinkles, brown spots and skin cancer.
Check out our product line designed exclusively for men that combats and helps prevent the signs of aging, leaving a guy's face looking and feeling great. Simple. Effective. No nonsense.
P.S. If for any reason you are not completely satisfied with any product, it will be replaced without charge, exchanged or the full purchase price refunded.

The Secrets of the Perfect Fake Tan
You want a super look, like you just arrived from one holiday? Here’s the secret of your success!
Preparations
These must not be cancelled!
Just right now we pass to the “cooking”. You’ll like it:
Imagine that you prepare one high class …“cake” – in translation, a splendid body, with smooth, golden and very appetizing skin. You need a fine “cake” and special aromatic essences, to put on the “cream” (the self-tanning lotion). Cast glances at the proposed “ingredients”: special shower-gels and lotions which make your skin smooth and velvety. Like this you’ll be prepared to the recipe turn out very well!
Exfoliation
You want a high class skin, right? French knows why they like so much cake with chocolate parfait. Because the delicious “cakes”, pardon, body's surface is very smooth and appetizing. Otherwise the cream doesn’t spread well. So you must eliminate any roughness and zones with thick skin, so you must insist to the elbows and knees.
Body painting
Don’t leave stripes! The best tactic is to apply for the first time the self-tan cream mixed with the body-lotion, by using usual circular massage motions, with the palms well protected by applying a greasy hand-cream. In the next “round”, next day you can apply the self-tan cream without “carrier”.
Get a safe, faux tan without exposing your skin to the harmful effects of the sun. Does not contain sunscreen, does not protect against sunburn, and is not waterproof or fragrance-free.

Morning Makeup Routine
Master your morning make-up routine in 5 minutes!
A well-edited set of flattering everyday neutrals will bring out your personal best and get you out the door in no time.
Step 1: Prep the eyelid by blotting on primer for longer-lasting color.
Step 2: Streamline your makeup by using shell and chestnut brown eyeshadows, a combination that complements almost everyone's complexion. Brighten the eye by applying the lighter shade all over the lid. Stay right above the lashes, and don't forget the inner corner. Keep it neat. After dipping your brush in the pot, lightly tap the brush to remove excess pigment.
Step 3: Apply the darker color in a windshield-wiper motion right into the crease.
Step 4: Apply mascara. Wiggle the wand at the base of the lashes and then pull up. This creates a subtle intensity at the lashline so you can leave out the extra step of lining your eyes. Plus, it creates a cleaner stroke through the lashes to minimize clumping.
Step 5: Brush on blush right at the apples of your cheeks for a pretty, fresh look. Gone are the days of sweeping it up to meet the temples.
Step 6: Dab on a peachy gloss. Find an ultra-sheer formula so you can apply it without a mirror if you're in a rush.
YOU GLOW GIRL!
