Your Beautiful Peepers

The main makeup components you may want to consider when dressing up your pretty peepers are mascara, eye shadows and possibly eyeliner, though sometimes pressed powder or a light foundation will work wonders for circles under the eyes.

Eye Shadow
Depending on the hues you wish to use, you can get a little colorful and creative with the wide selection of products for eyelids on the market. No longer do you have to sift through dozens of shades of eye shadow powder looking for the perfect blend…now you can accessorize your eyes with a beautiful array of powders, creams and glittery dustings. Traditional eye shadow powders are very easy to use with applicator brushes. Not sure about colors? Go with something neutral the first couple of times until you get the hang of it. Apply a light dusting of bronze, tan or other shimmery transparent color for a gentle hint of color.

Mascara
When selecting mascara, many factors come into play, with each brand’s newest addition to the line claiming bigger and better benefits. From thickening to lengthening to blackest black, waterproof and curling, each mascara product has a special offering of its own. Considering your own lashes, choose one that best suits your needs.

Generally, applying two coats of mascara will give enough definition to lashes to really make a difference. Allow the first coat to dry before applying the second in an effort to prevent clumping. If some of the mascara accidentally brushes onto your eyelids or underneath, simply use a q-tip to remove it. This may necessitate touching up your eye shadow a bit.

EyelinerTo really define your eyes, apply a thin line of eyeliner in black or brown, khaki, plum or navy. To properly apply the eyeliner pencil or liquid liner, gently pull the corner of your eye outward, forming a straight line along your lashes. Starting at the inside corner and working toward the outside, delicately trace a line with the pencil angled toward your lashes.
Be careful how much eyeliner you apply, as a little really does go a long way. For a dramatic look, thicker and darker is very acceptable. For a subtle definition, stick with a lighter application.

Face Value

Micro-dermabrasion is one of the more recent skin-care techniques to have crossed over from Hollywood to the mainstream. So what exactly is micro-dermabrasion and what does it promise particularly for women over 40? Do you need a doctor or is it something you can do yourself?

As an alternative to a dermatologist’s office or with an expensive in-spa professional treatment, there are micro-dermabrasion creams and scrubs you can apply at home. These contain the same crystals you'd find in professional treatments, but many cut out the use of a specialized tool for application. Instead, you use your hands to rub the products into your face, neck or arms, pushing the crystals against your skin so they grab and remove the dead cells of the outer layer of your skin. The benefit is replacing dead, dull skin cells with new, healthy ones.

When looking for a Micro-dermabrasion Home System you’ll want to find a system that includes both a Refiner and Replenisher to achieve the maximum benefits:

Step 1, Refine: Contains aluminum oxide crystals – the same professional-grade, highly refined aluminum oxide crystals that dermatologists use. These crystals are super exfoliates that gently buff away rough, dull, lifeless skin cells that naturally accumulate on the surface of your skin.

Step 2, Replenish: A serum that nourishes the newly revealed healthier younger-looking skin with vitamins, antioxidants and an anti-irritant. It soothes, smoothes and softens the skin.

With a Micro-dermabrasion Home System you'll receive instant results: Fight fine lines, refine pores and achieve beautifully smooth skin – immediately – with a simple, two-step set.

It is a great “at home” alternative for busy women who want to save time and money.

Try it! Love it!
These results were experienced after just one week.

Beauty News

Hello and Happy March to YOU!!

I don’t know where February went but I’m glad it’s March, that much closer to warmer weather.:) You can save in the month of March on your favorite Mary Kay products. This month you'll receive 20% off your order and always FREE shipping.

Co-workers and friends always ask me how I keep my complexion flawless and soft. I thought I would share with you the products I use daily to keep my youthful look.:) If you’ve never met me in person you can visit my Facebook page here - http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#/profile.php?id=541007524&ref=profile. Not bad for an almost 50 year old, huh?:) If you have a Facebook account please add me as your friend!

Ok, back to my daily regimen. The Set I can’t live without is the Miracle Set. The set utilizes the latest in skin care science to bring you the younger-looking skin you want with fewer lines and wrinkles, improved firmness, and more even skin tone. The 3-1 Cleanser (cleanses, tones, exfoliates all in one), moisturizer – I can’t go without my moisturizer!!!, plus it has anti-aging properties. Also in my set is Daily Solution which protects me from environmental damage – has a 25 SPF. Dermatologists recommend that you use a sunscreen daily, not just when the sun is out, but any time to keep the damage away. Then there is my Night Solution which I call my prescription Retin A you get from your Dermatologist. The Night Solution does some serious repair – minimums fine lines aned wrinkles and keeps your skin baby soft. Lastly, Eye Cream is a MUST!! Your under eye area doesn’t have pores and this area is the first to age you. I use my anti-aging eye cream morning and night.

One thing I have discovered is my face needs a good exfoliate 1-2x per week. If I don’t exfoliate my makeup looks drab and doesn’t go on right. If you want an alternative to going to the Dermatologist then try our Microdermabrasion Home System. I keep this advanced exfoliator (same professional grade exfoliating crystals used by dermatologists) in the shower to immediately energize skin. It really gives my skin a healthy glow.

Be sure and check out my favorite products and our NEW TV commercials at my website. Please contact me if you have any questions or let me know how I can help you with your beauty needs. All samples and consultations are FREE!

As Time Goes By....

I want to share some information with you that many women ask "as time goes by" and we get older.

I had a potential customer write me about her skin care concerns. She wrote -

Within the last month or 2 I am experiencing that lovely perimenopause and the oil production on my face is out of control. I have always had combination skin, but this is extensive. Very greasy, particularly T-zone but also in the temple areas and have had breakouts. UG! It is so unpleasant that my bangs end up kind of greasy by days end. I end up cleaning my face about 3 times a day to cut down on the oils, but that cannot be good for my skin and I fear that I am not getting enough moisture to the wrinkles around my eyes and mouth area. ANY SUGGESTIONS?

Dear Ms. Oily,

I understand your skin care concerns. As we are going through "change" our bodies and skin do some strange things.:) I don't know about you, but some times I feel like I'm going back to puberty myself.:)

To answer your question, you'll want to make sure you are using a skin care system that meets your needs. Since you have very oily skin you'll need a skin care system to control oil. Some women think that if they have oily skin they don't need to moisturize, not so. Your skin needs daily hydration and moisture. You'll get these benefits by using the correct skin care system -- the basics, cleanser and moisturizer and if needed some extra supplements.

To help control your oil beyond your skin care system I would suggest using a supplement that helps control oil throughout the day. One product I love and know that works is our Oil Mattifier. The Oil Mattifier absorbs oil and helps control shine for at least eight hours. And you can reapply it throughout the day – even over your foundation.

Another product I keep handy in my purse is our Beauty Blotters. These handy tissues absorb oil without the day and help keep your makeup fresh.

And to zap those zits, give our Acne Treatment Gel a try! A little dab daily will do it. The secret to this product is to continue to treat the affected area a few days after it disappears.

Remember, as you get older your skin care needs may change. I find though I'm still a bit oily I need additional hydration in some areas, so I've started using our Oil-Free Hydrating Gel. It's a perfect combination with my daily moisturizer.

Don't forget with the change of the seasons check your foundation shade. Most likely you will need a darker shade in the summer and lighter one in the winter.

Blessings,
SkinCareGirl

The Secret to Beautiful Skin

Good Morning~

After reading this information and using Mary Kay products I do think 40 is the NEW 30 when you take care of your skin! I have a bit of the "crows feet" not much though. Do you think maybe I'm really 25 years old. lol

By James Sternberg, MD
Dr. Sternberg is a dermatologist and anti aging expert in Westwood, California.

Taking care of your skin now will pay big benefits later—no matter what age you are now!

Although these changes are typical, there may be exceptions. The proper use of cleansers, moisturizers and cosmetics is essential to maintaining a youthful appearance. Use of a good skin care program such as Mary Kay offers—skin supplements containing Alpha Hydroxy—can certainly alter this progression.

At 20 years—The skin on the face is still free of wrinkles.

At 25 years—The first wrinkles appear on the forehead and under the eyes. Laugh lines become apparent.

At 30 years—”Crow’s feet” develop at the corners of the eyes.

At 40 years—Permanent wrinkles begin to appear in the area from the ears to
the neck.

At 50 years—Wrinkles appear around the nose, ear lobes, and chin. The skin
is noticeably drier.

At 55 years—Folds form at the nape of the neck and mostly on the areas exposed
to sunlight. Hyper-pigmentation or discoloration begins.

At 60 years—Wrinkles around the mouth deepen and the cheeks begin to sag.

At 70 years—Wrinkles begin to overlap, forming a crisscrossing net of
creases. Pigmentation is now quite evident.

Turn Back Time!

Thank YOU For Being In My Life

Valentine's Day will be here before you know it. This is a reminder for all of us to say THANK YOU to those special people in our lives for being there. I feel THANK YOU is seldom spoken on a daily basis. The more appreciative we are of others the more blessed we become.

For many of us Valentine's Day is a day to shower or mate with words and gifts of LOVE. Take it a step further and shower everyone in your life with LOVE too....on a daily basis.

The world will be a better place and YOU will feel great on the inside out.

THANK YOU FOR BEING IN MY LIFE!

Beauty Resolutions

Have you made your Beauty Resolutions this year?

The beginning of every year is a great time to make changes in your life. Here are some simple resolutions that are easy to apply.

DeClutter your Make-up Bag. You know, out with the old, in with the new. How long have you had that mascara or cheek color in your make-up bag? Remember to throw away your mascara about every 3 months. Create a new look this year with our NEW Color Looks! Experiment with new eye and cheek colors to give you that WOW feeling.

Schedule a skin cancer screening. If you've never had a skin cancer screening this is the perfect time to schedule one. We all know that skin cancer is the most common cancer in the U.S. Designate a month for an annual appointment with your dermatologist. Early detection saves lives!

Commit to a skin care regimen. When you're using a great skin care regimen you'll see the difference in how your skin looks and feels. Now this doesn't happen overnight, it's with long term use that the results will appear. Be patient!

Pick that perfect shade of foundation. You have the perfect skin care regimen and now it's time to pick that perfect shade of foundation that looks GREAT on YOU! As seasons change so does the shade of our foundation.

First you want proper lighting to pick your perfect shade. Daylight is the most ideal condition. Stand next to a window to apply the foundation along your jaw line, NOT on your arm, hand or face. The right one will vanish into your skin. You'll want your foundation to match your neck even if your neck is slightly darker than your face.

A matte finish will be HOT this spring so you'll want to be sure and try our NEW Mineral Foundation to get that perfect look!

YOU GLOW GIRL!
